Add Legislative Dems to the List

First Gavin Newsom, then Joe Biden, and now Legislative Democrats. Yet another new survey is out this week showing Californians’ mounting frustration with Democrats and their failed agenda, this time targeting Democrats in Sacramento.

A new PPIC Survey found that less than half of likely voters approve of the way the California Legislature, under Democrat supermajorities, is handling jobs and the economy. The numbers are worse, when looking at disapproval among key demographics:

  • 51% of Independents and 50% of Moderates
  • Majorities in key regions around the state with targeted legislative races, including:
    • Central Valley (56%)
    • Inland Empire (55%)
    • Orange/San Diego (61%)
  • 52% of Latinos
  • 51% of voters 45+ years old

Similarly, several key demographics also disapproved of Gavin Newsom’s handling of jobs and the economy, including:

  • 50% of Independents
  • Majorities in key regions around the state, including:
    • Central Valley (54%)
    • Inland Empire (53%)
    • Orange/San Diego (58%)

Californians are hurting. More than half (52%) of likely voters think California is heading in the wrong direction. On top of that, a massive 76% think children today will be worse off financially than their parents, including 66% of Democrats, more than 70% in every region surveyed, 75% of women and 68% of Latinos.

BOTTOM LINE: Legislative Democrats have the power to help Californians in need, but through radical, regressive policies, have only made things worse. Californians have had enough. Voters are feeling the pinch of a tough economy and will remember that Democrats like Senators Melissa Hurtado, Josh Newman, and Dave Min, and Assemblymembers Esmeralda Soria, Jasmeet Bains, Eduardo Garcia, Pilar Schiavo, Jacqui Irwin, Sabrina Cervantes, and Sharon Quirk-Silva are to blame.
