Assembly Republican Leader Marie Waldron Responds to State of the State Address
SACRAMENTO – Today, Assembly Republican Leader Marie Waldron (Escondido) issued the following statement in response to Governor Newsom’s State of the State address:
“There was a lot to like in the Governor’s speech. We agree on the need to cut red tape that holds up housing, increase Medi-Cal reimbursement rates and ramp up the fights against homelessness and mental illness.
“Assembly Republicans have put forward common-sense solutions to the problems facing our state, and we look forward to working with Gov. Newsom to turn these ideas into reality.
“While we’ll partner with the Governor when we agree, we will also fight for a government that works for everyone. Californians deserve good service, effective programs and leaders that hold themselves to the same standards they impose on the rest of the state.”
Assembly Republican Leader Marie Waldron, R-Escondido, represents California’s 75th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Bonsall, Escondido, Fallbrook, Hidden Meadows, Rainbow, San Marcos, Temecula, Valley Center, and Vista.
