Proposition #: 51

A.K.A: School Bonds. Funding for K-12 School and Community College Facilities

Our vote: Yes

Are we alone? Reps and Dems are both feeling the love on this one

Here is the bottom line:

This really bad thing happened 8 years ago…the market completely crashed. It took a little more than a year to feel the full effects on the state budget, but feel them we did and no more so than in our schools. Classes grew, programs shrank, and vital maintenance to aging buildings got deferred. Now, we are years down the line and all that maintenance that was put off for a better day has piled up. Some of our schools are in DESPERATE need of repair – we are talking serious overhaul here.

If the safety and wellbeing of our kids wasn’t enough, some of the money will also go to improving schools to further improve class numbers and enhance facilities that just aren’t cutting it anymore. We are all holding hands on this one because our kids deserve a safe school and some elbowroom at their desk.
