When are the Registration Hours?


Registration will take place in the Indigo Bay section of the Kalahari Resort @ the following times:

Saturday July 16th : 8:00am – 11:00pm  

Sunday July 17th: 8:00am – 11:00pm 

Monday July 18th: 8:00am – 6:00pm 

Tuesday July 19th: 8:00am - 3:30pm

Wednesday July 20th: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Thursday July 21st: 8:00am - 4:00pm 


When is hotel check-in and check-out?

The Kalahari’s check-in time is 4:00 pm, and check-out is 11:00 am. Early check-in and late check-out requests are based upon each hotel’s availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Will the Delegation be providing transportation to and from the airport?


Yes. California Delegation staff will be coordinating airport transportation to and from the Cleveland airport and the Kalahari resort during peak travel times on Saturday, July 16, and Friday, July 22 The Delegation-provided airport transportation cost is included in your Participation Fee. Once airport transportation times are confirmed, all members of the delegation will be notified. Please also continue to check this FAQ’s page for updates.

If you are not arriving on either of those days, you can reserve a spot on the Kalahari’s airport shuttle by calling 419-433-7200, ext. 34089. This shuttle service is $85 for a one way trip for the first passenger, and $25 for each additional passenger you add to your reservation. Reservations are first come, first serve for these shuttles.

If you are a delegate you should have received an email with the detailed bus schedule on July 12th.

How do I know if I’m a Delegate?


Delegates and alternates were chosen by the individual campaigns, and were notified directly by the campaigns.  If you are unsure if you are a delegate or an alternate delegate, please visit the Delegate Lists section of this webpage.

When should I be in Cleveland?

We recommend you arrive on Saturday, July 16 and depart on Friday, July 22.

How much are the Delegation hotels?

  • The resort fee of $19.99 is waived for the CA Delegation group.
  • We have an exclusive hotel check-in at the Kalahari’s Convention Center A entrance. Hours will be the same as the Delegation’s registration/credentials desk. If you arrive when this check-in is closed, you can proceed to the main hotel entrance to check-in.

Are there any restrictions on what I can bring to Cleveland?

What if I need to bring a necessary medical device?


Necessary medical devices such as nebulizers are permitted.  However, we encourage you to bring your prescription to speed along the screening process.  For questions regarding ADA needs and access, please contact Andy King at aking@gopconvention2016.com

Are bags allowed in the Q?


Convention attendees are permitted to bring purses no larger than 12” x 10”, in addition to one clear bag. Delegates and alternates will be provided with clear bags that meet USSS requirements, and others wishing to bring a clear bag should follow NFL guidelines at www.nfl.com/allclear.

Please be aware there are no check areas to hold a bag for you if your bag exceeds the size limit.


What should I wear to convention?


As of now, the RNC has said that there is no dress code, so we encourage you to wear what you feel comfortable in for the day’s schedule.  Remember that we will be both indoors and outdoors, so make sure you pack for climate controlled arenas and warm outdoor climates.  We’ll be walking a lot, so no matter how formally you choose to dress for convention, we recommend comfortable shoes.  And don’t forget your swimsuit for the waterpark!

Where will I be sitting in the Q?


Delegates will be on the floor of the arena, closest to the action.  Alternates will be on the first level of the arena, and guests on the upper level.

What are the requirements for being a delegate?


You must be a registered Republican and a resident of the Congressional District you are representing. You must attend the Delegation Meeting on Saturday, June 25, 2016 near LAX. You must commit to vote for the presidential candidate by whom you are selected.
