Last night the House of Representatives passed Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce’s (R-CA) Prohibiting Future Ransom Payments to Iran Act (H.R. 5931). The legislation prohibits future cash payments to Iran – period. Read the Foreign Affairs Committee press release here.

FYI: The local tax measures on this year’s ballot would add BILLIONS to the $250 billion CA residents already pay in state and local taxes each year. Even with the largest budget on record, California cities and counties feel the need to ask for billions in additional taxes this year due to the majority party’s priorities (or lack thereof). Meaning that the Democrat majority has again, failed to address the vital needs in communities across our state. I guess someone has to pick up their slack. Read our blog post here. Also- Want to know what costs are coming to your door? Across the state there are 228 local tax measures and 193 local bond measures that carry the hefty price tag of $32 billion. The California Taxpayers Association has made the calls and crunched the numbers to issue this easy to read report.

You should know Scott Jones. If you don’t check out his new ad here. #CA07 Congressman David Valadeao also released a new ad this week- check it out!

What is the worst lie Hillary ever told? Benghazi? Email server? We literally cannot choose just one. However- you can! Take the poll here.

We cannot say it any better than the @sfchronicle did, ‘The California Democratic Party seems to have concluded that it can’t defeat Assemblywoman Catharine Baker, R-San Ramon, on the merits. So it’s gone to desperate means to distort the voting record of a Republican legislator who has regularly broken from the party line with her stands on gun control, climate action and equal pay for women.

Voters who receive the slick mailers misrepresenting Baker’s position on those issues should promptly do the right thing, for the environment and for honesty in politics: Drop them in the recycle bin. They’re garbage.’ BEST LINE EVER. And completely true, unlike all allegations the Dems have attempted to sling towards the Bay Area Republican. Read the article here.

Bottom Line: Baker is the real deal, you’d have to be crazy to cast your vote for anyone else.

Something’s fishy…According to The Sacramento Bee, ‘The state’s political ethics commission is launching an investigation into the California Democratic Party after an advocacy group alleged the party acted as a middle man to funnel donations from oil and energy companies to Gov. Jerry Brown’s 2014 re-election campaign.

The Fair Political Practices Commission on Friday informed Consumer Watchdog of its investigation of their allegations. The advocacy group issued a report in August alleging that energy companies donated $4.4 million to the Democratic Party, and the Democratic Party gave $4.7 million to Brown’s re-election between 2011 and 2014. Consumer Watchdog said many of the donations were timed around important decisions related to the industry.’
