(Sacramento) - CRP Chairman Ron Nehring Issues Statement Following Suspension of Mitt Romney's Campaign:

"Today's action by Governor Mitt Romney represents a further consolidation of the Republican field and a significant step forward in Senator McCain's securing of the Republican nomination for President. 

"The Republican party has a long history of uniting behind its nominee;  As the Republican primary race continues to narrow, we recognize the contributions of Sen. McCain, Gov. Romney, Gov. Huckabee, Cong. Paul, and all former candidates in articulating the vision of Republicans for the future of this country. 

"With our nominee established early, our party will use the coming months to build a united front to compete against the Democrats in California and across America.  I look forward to working with Republicans in this state and throughout the nation to ensure that neither Barack Obama nor Senator Clinton ever enter the White House without a 'visitor' pass."
