Statement By California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring Concerning Senator Clinton's Economic Forum

Posted: Thursday, January 17, 2008

California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring today issued the following statement regarding Senator Clinton's CSU Northridge townhall on the economy:

"Senator Clinton's economic stimulus ideas are more about stimulating the IRS than anything else.

"Californians already pay the highest taxes in the West, and Senator Clinton thinks they should be even higher. So today we'll hear her explain her ‘solutions' for America's economy. What Clinton should be explaining is how her support for the biggest tax increase in American history will somehow help California.

"Higher taxes, special interest earmarks, and even bigger government with a bigger appetite for Californians' hard earned income - that's the Clinton economic plan."
