StatementsStatement By California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring Concerning The President's Visit With California Fire Victims And First RespondersPosted: Thursday, October 25, 2007
"President Bush's visit to "The President recognized Governor Schwarzenegger's leadership in ensuring state resources are concentrated on confronting the fires and assisting the families who have lost their homes, or the use of their homes. "President Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger have both recognized that now isn't the time for partisanship or politics. They've kept their focus on the real issues at hand: putting out the fires, supporting the first responders, and helping the victims of this tragedy. "I can say from firsthand experience that many of the lessons of the 2003 Cedar Fire have been learned and applied locally. We've seen improved communications with the reverse-911 system, and a much better flow of information concerning the location of fires and evacuation areas."
