(SACRAMENTO) - California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring released the following statement in response to Rep. Pete Stark's (D-CA) outrageous comments against the United States military on the House floor:

"The disgraceful comments by Democrat Pete Stark are an insult to every American serving in our Armed Forces and an embarrassment to all Californians. We realize Democrats and their leadership are desperate to continue playing politics with the War on Terror, but for a United States Congressman to stand on the floor of the House and proclaim that our men and women in uniform are being sent to Iraq to ‘get their heads blown off for the President's amusement' is far beyond the realm of acceptable discourse.

"We expect the leaders of the Democrat Party, including Nancy Pelosi and their presidential candidates, to immediately denounce these outrageous, insulting, and plainly disgraceful attacks on our Armed Forces."
