StatementsClinton And Obama Fail To Stand Up For Our Military PersonnelPosted: Thursday, September 20, 2007 (SACRAMENTO) - California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring released the following statement after Senator Hillary Clinton voted against a resolution condemning MoveOn.org's attack on General David Petraeus and Senator Barack Obama's failed to cast a vote at all. "Senator Hillary Clinton's vote against a resolution denouncing MoveOn.org's attack on General Patraeus is indefensible. "These actions demonstrate her misguided priorities in choosing to take the side of those seeking to undermine our military commanders over those charged with ensuring the safety and success of our military personnel. Such a purely political calculation is disgraceful from someone who wishes to be the nation's commander-in-chief. "At the same time, Barack Obama's failure to cast a vote at all once again highlights his questionable leadership on the tough issues facing our country. Rather than seizing the opportunity to support the troops defending our country, Senator Obama has added yet another item to the list of issues in which he has clearly failed to lead. This is questionable behavior for a Senator; but it is inexcusable for someone campaigning for the presidency. ### |
