Statement By California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring On The Democrats' Record After Five Months In Control of Congress

(Sacramento, CA) - California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring today issued the following statement on the occasion of five months of Democrat control of Congress:

"After five months in control of Congress, now is a good time to take a look at what the Democrats have accomplished.  Or not.

"Democrats didn't win control of Congress because they had an agenda for America.  Republicans lost control because we didn't live up to the standards we set for ourselves in 1994.  The Democrats didn't have an agenda for this Congress, and it shows: not one of their 'Six for 06' campaign promises has made it into law.

"As of today, only 26 bills have been signed beyond the Iraq War Supplemental.  The bold, 'new direction' Democrats promised during the campaign has turned into renaming federal property, extending a few existing laws, extending the Thomas Alva Edison Commemorative Coin Act, and other such issues vital to the Republic."
