Press ReleaseCalifornia Republican Party Announces New Director of CommunicationsPosted: Thursday, March 8, 2007 California Republican Chairman Ron Nehring today announced the appointment of Hector M. Barajas to the post of Director of Communications for the California Republican Party. Barajas previously served as Press Secretary, Deputy Political Director, Regional Political Director, and Spanish Media Coordinator for the party.
"Building a world class Republican Party in California demands a world class communications operation that effectively communicates our Republican message of opportunity to every corner of the Golden State," said Nehring. "Hector M. Barajas is uniquely qualified to lead our communications team to do just that."
In recent weeks the party's communications department has been restructured to stress both internal and external communications. Expanded communications with all party stakeholders - including elected officials, candidates, donors, volunteers, activists, county chairs, committee members and others - will now be conducted through a unified communications operation.
Prior to his work at the California Republican Party, Hector M. Barajas served as a Field Director, Volunteer Coordinator, and Latino spokesperson on numerous legislative, congressional and statewide campaigns. He has appeared on the BCC, Univision, Telemundo, NBC, ABC, CBS, and his commentaries have been published in the North County Times, Pasadena Star News, Santa Clarita Signal, Hispanic Vista, El Salvador, Teleguia, La Prensa, and other publications.
A California native, Hector was born in East Los Angeles and raised in Echo Park. He is a graduate from California State University, Los Angeles. ### |
